The City Council allocates 200,000 euros to invest in social projects within the participatory budget process in two neighborhoods.

The Municipality of Sant Vicenç dels Horts announced last Wednesday during an event in Once de Septiembre square, the projects choosed by the neighbors from Can Ros and El Serral have decided to make reality, according to the votes of the participatory budget. The winners were the projects for a care service targeting people in situations of dependency (70.9%) and a plan of civism and coexistence (45.2%).

The turnout has been 12%, a figure which, although it may seem low, is very high compared to other places, according to the experience of Civiciti, the company that manages the participatory processes of Sant Vicenç dels Horts. Its business director, Jordi Ribalta, explained to the neighbors that this year have carried out 78 participatory processes in eight countries and “Sants Vicenç has been, by far, where more people have participated.” Even so, the clearer comparison can be made with the previous participatory budget process, held in La Vinyala – Poble Nou under the same conditions as Can Ros and El Serral, where participation was 8.3%.
